Day 1: Kilimanjaro - Zanzibar
Fly from Arusha to Zanzibar. On arrival at Zanzibar Airport our representative welcomes you and after a short briefing and transfer to your Stone Town hotel, The Tembo House Hotel. Take your time to rest or enjoy a walk through the narrow winding streets. Overnight based on Bed & Breakfast Day 2: Stone Town and Nugwi After breakfast your guide will meet you for a historical walking tour through Stone Town. This is one of the oldest towns in Tanzania and it’s believed to be the only functioning ancient town in East Africa. This is an old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People's Palace), Dr Livingston's House and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques! UNESCO declared this a World Heritage Site. Free time for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you drive to your beach hotel in Nungwi in the north of the island, Amaan Bungalows. Overnight based on Bed & Breakfast. Day 3: Kendwa / Nugwi Beach - Diving
Today your first diving session of a package of 4 will take place. Zanzibar is reputed to have some of the best diving in the world, and the coral reef structures that surround Unguja and Pemba ensure that the marine life is abundant. Good visibility (20 - 60 metres) and a year-round average water temperature of 27°c ensure that you enjoy your Zanzibar diving experience, and also present an ideal opportunity for learning to dive or upgrading your diving qualification. Experienced scuba divers enjoy exciting wall dives, night dives and drift dives. In deeper waters, lush coral gardens often stretch as far as the eye can see, and large game fish (barracuda, kingfish, tuna and wahoo) hunt together with large Napoleonic wrasse, graceful manta rays and sharks. Shallower waters are the playground of tropical fish, including a huge variety of Indo-Pacific marine fauna.
Zanzibar resorts employ trained PADI professionals both local and expat to offer a high degree of quality and satisfaction and most importantly safety. They normally have a sizable insurance policy which covers all guests and are active contributors to the local decompression chamber. Overnight in Amaan based on Bed & Breakfast.
